Dakar Collection
This is another solid oak furniture collection that carries the proud hallmark of our design team. The range is called Dakar (after the capital and chief port of Senegal on the Cape Verde peninsula) - because it encompasses so many different cultures. African, old French colonial, Dutch and English influences come to bear in this simple, but very individualistic range of superior quality furniture.
From the undeniable African expression of the cube tables, to the Gallic air of the bedroom furniture, every piece in the Dakar Range has two things in common - Unsurpassed levels of craftsmanship AND the outstanding calibre of raw material that we use in its production.
The timber is only ever A-grade 100% European oak, specially selected for its fine grain patterns and quality. We never resort to veneers, laminates, MDF or hardboard - just pure solid oak. Every drawer lining and cupboard back is solid oak boarded. All joints are hand crafted by skilled carpenters - for example: the insides of all drawers are precisely dovetailed and not tacked or screwed.
The life and good looks of superior oak furniture like this is greatly improved by a simple treatment of natural Danish oil 3/4 times a year. All that’s necessary is a simple application, sparingly, along the direction of the grain, to accentuate the natural beauty of the wood and maintain its condition.
